Life, as we all experience it, is often unpredictable. During our life time, perhaps only two things are absolutely certain: our birth and our death. If birth and death can be considered as two different end-stations on a rail-line, then life is but a journey from one end to other. Theoretically, the two events should be of equal importance in one’s life, and one would expect people to treat them with equal respect. However, while it is common to see people making enthusiastic preparations for an up-coming birth, very few people would actually make preparation for death with similar enthusiasm. In fact, while talking to older members of the family, most people would avoid bringing up the topic of death . As the result, they fail to help their elders to prepare adequately for the coming of the inevitable.
During this talk, Dr. Law will discuss, in a light-hearted and humorous way, why most of us have such an aversion to talking about death or making preparation for it, how we should prepare for death, and what to do after a death has happened.
